you were high for 42 years?
Q: What was your longest length of time on opioids before trying to detox?
A: I was never on opioids. I can’t stand the stuff.
I drank too much booze every single day for 25 years and then quit drinking alcohol. I haven’t had a drink in over 20 years.
Instead of getting an addiction recovery sponsor to help me figure out how to not relapse, I AddictionShifted from alcohol to cocaine for the next 13 years, and AddictionShifted again from cocaine to meth for the next 4 years after that, before I ended up homeless and living under a bridge—finally deciding that, after 42 years of being drunk, high or hungover every single day (except for the many days and nights I spent in jail)—it was time to clean up my act.
I went to Old Rehab once and only once and have been clean and sober for 7 years and NEVER ONCE RELAPSED because I got an addiction recovery sponsor who taught me what I needed to know to defeat relapse.
AND THAT’S THE TRUTH
