addictive personality traits?
Q: Since humans are subject to additive personality traits, how do we stop our addictive personalities?
A: Addiction is not a personality trait per se.
Addiction is caused by a genetic mutation that is activated by something I call “momma trauma”.
Science is working on eradicating genetic addiction in humans–not just drug and alcohol addiction but addiction: the whole enchilada–with a therapeutic and/or vaccine that will block the ΔFosB (DeltaFosB) splice variant of the FOSB member of the human FOS gene.
That unfortunate genetic mutation occurred at one point during human (or, perhaps, earlier?) evolution.
Although addiction is genetic, addiction relapse is epigenetic.
Therefore, if you trace addiction down to its root cause, you find that it’s actually childhood trauma that causes addiction and its associated obsessions and compulsions which manifest themselves as personality traits.
Dealing with painful physical and mental past trauma is the only way to become a successfully recovering addict. And I suggest that you start here.
AND THAT’S THE TRUTH
