Q: Why do addicts disappear for days? What do they do in that time?
A: Active addicts almost always isolate, surfacing only when they need to get their hands on more of whatever it is they are addicted to.
Most drug and alcohol addicts don’t like being around other people, particularly in 12-step meetings, in rehab or worse: we don’t like being around normie friends and family who don’t speak our language and have no clue what it’s like to be an addict. That’s why interventions do nothing but cause more frustration for everyone.
