hitting bottom?

Q: I’ve been gambling for 45 years. I always tell myself I’ll stop but I never do. I barely have enough money to pay the bills. How do I overcome my addiction?

A: Addicts almost never stop doing what they are addicted to until something happens that causes them to “hit bottom”

There are “high bottoms” (I lost my job)

There are “medium bottoms” (I lost my spouse)

There are “low bottoms” (I lost all my money and my house and now I’m living in my car)

There are “really low bottoms” (How the hell did I end up living under this bridge?)

There is the “final bottom” (rest in peace)

As long as you don’t die first, you will eventually stop gambling and recover from your addiction when you hit your own personal bottom and are ready to quit.

AND THAT’S THE TRUTH
