mom is not your problem?
Q: Am I wrong for moving out of a toxic household when my mom is sick? She’s a severe alcoholic and shows no signs of stopping, but I still feel responsible for her.
A: You are not responsible for your mother.
Your mother’s severe alcohol addiction (alcoholism) makes her a danger to herself.
Get her to a doctor (or call the police) because it is their responsibility (not yours) to stop your mother from being a danger to herself.
The sooner you stop helping her, the sooner she will start helping herself, or she will suffer the inevitable consequences of drug/alcohol addiction: jail/prison, a mental institution, or an early death.
